The Sustainable Business Idea Competition is led by Business Region Kristiansand, but is carried out in collaboration with a number of partners who all want to promote innovation and development in the region.

The competition aims to highlight entrepreneurs with sustainable solutions and contribute to future growth companies and jobs.  

- "Innovation is an important element in business development, and we are very pleased to see that there are many entrepreneurs in Agder with good sustainable business ideas. This is what advisor at Business Region Kristiansand, Stein Otto G. Daatland, says after the selection of finalists has been made. 

For the winner, more than glory awaits. 

- We want to increase the chance of realization and success, so the winning company can get expenses of up to NOK 150,000 covered. The funds can be used for office space, advice and services for further business development, as well as support for relevant conferences," explains Daatland.

The three companies that will pitch during the final in the spectacular Panorama at Kunstsilo are Varde, GADR and Vigi Systems. 

• Varde is a medical technology startup developing a machine learning (AI) algorithm to replace manual calculation of insulin doses for people with diabetes. 
• GADR will make it easier to take good measures to improve the energy efficiency of homes. 
• Vigi Systems aims to develop an innovative solution to provide real-time insight and improve maintenance of critical infrastructure that carries the telecommunications and power grid in Norway.  

The event is part of Techpoint and a ticket to the conference is required to attend. No other form of registration is required. The event will be held in Panorama at the top of Kunstsilo from 14.00 - 16.00
