This year's Sustainable Business Idea Competition is underway. The competition aims to highlight entrepreneurs with sustainable solutions and contribute to future growth companies and jobs in the region.
The competition is for entrepreneurs in Agder with business ideas in the development/pre-commercial phase, and the deadline for applications is August 20, 2023.
Why participate?
- All finalists receive pitch training and get to showcase themselves to a relevant audience.
- The organizers of the Sustainable Business Idea Competition provide prizes and follow-up to the winner with the aim of increasing the chances of realization and success.
- The winner can have expenses of up to NOK 150,000 covered, which can be used forOffice space for up to one year (in Kristiansand, Arendal or Mandal), advice and services for further business development and support for relevant conferences.
Criteria for participation
- Participants must have a business idea that involves a solution (product, process or service) that supports the achievement of one or more sustainability goals.
- The company must be registered in Brønnøysund before the application is submitted and have a registered business address in Agder. There is no requirement for a company form.
- The business idea should be in the development/pre-commercial phase with commercial potential.
- The company has not yet sold products, solutions or prototypes on commercial terms/achieved significant revenues.
Implementation
After the application deadline, a jury with representatives from business, academia and the funding agencies will assess all applications and select at least two applicants for a final. The final will be held during an event at the Techpoint conference in Kristiansand on September 14.
All finalists will receive professional guidance and training on how to perform their presentation.This training is mandatory. The first session is joint and will take place on Monday, August 28.Subsequently, there will be individual training on two days between August 28 and September 8, for a total of approximately 4 hours.Participants are expected to work hard on their presentations during this period.
