/ Lillesand-Flaksvandbanen
The Lillesand-Flaksvandbanen, LFB, was the first railroad in the Agder counties. It was opened in 1896, a few months before the Setesdalsbanen and as much as 42 years before the Sørlandsbanen.
In the purpose description, the company has described that we will: Secure, restore and maintain the cultural heritage of the Lillesands-Flaksvandsbanen; Through the acquisition or disposal of available railway land, buildings and objects. By acquiring the disposal of rolling stock or reconstructing it for exhibition or use.
The Board has subsequently clarified that the company will focus on 4 main areas in further prioritization of projects and activities:
- Lillesand: Main focus on activities and projects in and around the station building in Lillesand, to highlight and profile the importance of the Lillesands-Flaksvandsbanan for Lillesand
- Birkenes: Local activities in Birkenes, to highlight and profile the importance of the railway for Birkenes (probably spread over several different locations)
- The railway line: Rehabilitation and maintenance of the physical railway line, initially between Jordbrunna and Modalen. Later more stretches. First as a pedestrian/cycle path, later preferably track laying/train etc.
- Information and history: General information about Lillesand-Flaksvandsbanen, further development of archives, profiling, social media, etc.
