/ Compensation scheme for businesses

The scheme is intended to compensate part of the unavoidable fixed costs of businesses that have been severely affected by the infection control measures, either because they have been forced to close or because they have experienced a significant loss of income.

The enterprise must have a drop in turnover that is mainly due to the corona pandemic of at least 30 percent in the grant period compared to the comparison period. Enterprises must be registered before March 1, 2020 in the Register of Business Enterprises. Sole proprietorships must be registered in the Register of Legal Entities before March 1, 2020.

The enterprise cannot operate within:

  • the financial industry
  • oil and gas extraction companies that are under the oil tax regime
  • companies engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity
  • airlines with a Norwegian operating license
  • private kindergartens

The guide can be found at kompensasjonsordning.no. Here you can find out whether your enterprise is eligible for a subsidy, how much subsidy you can receive and how to prepare before you can submit your application. Good preparation will help ensure that the application process and payment can take place within a few days.

Applicants must use an approved chartered accountant or auditor. Each application is required to be verified by an auditor or chartered account ant before submission.
