Even Andreas Lie became a new trainee in Business Region Kristiansand

Through the regional trainee program Trainee Sør, young graduates have the opportunity to spend six months with three different employers in both the public and private sectors. After his first placement, Even Andreas Lie chose to spend the next one with Business Region Kristiansand.

- "I've been thrown straight into new things, and I'm very happy about that. That's how you learn," says an expectant Lie.

He comes from a period in Agder County Council, where he worked with marketing and digitalization related to the certification scheme "Likestilt arbeidsliv".

- Equal Working Life is a certification scheme for gender equality and diversity in private and public enterprises. "I was curious about the social dimension of sustainability, so it was very educational. I take with me many important perspectives that will be useful in the business world.

A varied and exciting skill set

Lie holds a master's degree in Political Science and Management from the University of Agder, and a bachelor's degree in Marketing Management from BI Norwegian Business School in Bergen.

- "We are very pleased to have Even on the team in Business Region Kristiansand. He has a background and expertise that is varied and fits well into the intersection areas we work in, says Geir Haugum, Business Manager in Kristiansand municipality.

In 2022, Lie wrote his master's thesis on the connection between public policy and the transition from the oil and gas industry to a sustainable blue economy. Now he says he wants to help facilitate sustainable value creation and realize new business opportunities in the region.

- That's one of the exciting things about working in Kristiansand municipality. You get the opportunity to work in a large organization that plays a central role in the development of society. In Business Region Kristiansand, I also get to be close to the business community. That's perhaps what I'm looking forward to the most," he concludes.
